Safiyya Dhorat (Masjid Nuh) – Shortlisted – Best Mosque Volunteer 2022

Ustadha Safiyya Dhorat of Masjid Nuh (Ashford & Staines Community Centre) has played a prominent role in the nurturing of children and welcoming of women at ASCC. As the wife of the Imam, she sets the standard in contributing her time generously and leading events even while pregnant.

Ustadha Safiyya graduated from the Alimiyyah in 2007 and completed a Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership in 2015 at Cambridge Muslim College. She has a Masters degree in Islamic Studies from SOAS and currently develops programmes to improve maternity and postnatal outcomes for Black and Asian women.

She has used her experience to lead a number of courses and fundraising projects at ASCC for the benefit of the community.
